Swing Left - Art NY gemeinsam mit Rally erleben

Downtown for Democracy needs your help! Studies show that the most effective way to get people to the polls is to connect with them in person. In the final days before the midterm elections, D4D will be mobilizing leaders in the art world to spur volunteer activity to do just that -- to speak directly to prospective voters in the places where it matters most.

In partnership with Swing Left (a grassroots political organization working to flip the House), we are organizing a day of action for the art world. On Monday, November 5, we will be filling buses with volunteers and going out to nearby swing districts in New York and New Jersey to canvass. That means knocking on doors, talking about the issues at stake, and helping to get people to the polls.

Never canvassed before? We’ll train you! In addition, the people we're targeting are widely Democrats or liberals or progressives—people who share many of the same values but who may not realize they need to go out and vote. This isn't about persuading people from the right, it's about raising awareness and encouraging action among the left.

This is one of the most important elections of our lifetime. Don’t just vote - volunteer!
